About me
Hi, I'm Evelyn and it is lovely to meet you !
Some of you may already know me already from the many different paths I have travelled up to now ! Perhaps it was from Art College in IADT in Dun Laoghaire, or from the Temple Bar Designer Market ? For years I loved that spot I had on the top steps of Cows Lane – selling my hats and handwoven shawls – chatting to everyone and enjoying hearing all the stories that people choose to tell me. I called them 'flakes of people’s lives' - sometimes they just needed to share with someone, to a stranger and then they moved on.
Or maybe it was at my studio at Russborough House ? A stunning house and place that will always be close to my heart www.russborough.ie . Or perhaps you bought a hat from one of the 22 shops I stocked at one point !! including Kilkenny Design www.killkennydesign.com , the GPO or Foxford Mills www.foxford.com ? ! It all was a really bohemian special time back then !
Since then, some may also know me from my work with the Travelling Community in the craft based social enterprise www.shuttleknit.ie in Wicklow Town ? That was certainly one of the most rewarding and challenging jobs I have ever done. I made so many friends there, learnt so much about what is valuable to
me.
Or finally, you may know me now through my work as a LEADER Rural
Development officer at County Wicklow Partnership, www.countywicklowpartnership.ie, a job I love and am blessed to do. It takes me into the heart of Wicklow and its community, where I get to work with creatives and change makers ! doing project that make a difference.
My path I hope will still take many more twists and turns,
as my gypsy spirit, while gentle will always need to wander.

A note on creativity and the courage to Believe !!
I always remember the turning point. It was a Tuesday in
February 2016. It was one simple sentence, one moment and after that, everything changed in and for me. They were four simple words – ‘ I believe in you ‘ .
In many ways it was not the words, but it was the way he
looked at me when he said it. He was an elderly man, a wise man, a leader and belief setter. Mostly, for me, it was really because, I heard them. Really heard them. His name is Blaise Brosnan, a man
who changed the course of my life. Thank you kind SIR !
Often the past, the knocks and sometimes even the everyday steals us of our expression, our true soul cry. We can lose the courage and connection to our talents - until there comes a point when their voice needs to rise again. To be heard. It can take one person, one step, one change of mind to embrace a new way forward. For me, my intuition and the creative process has always part of me and that day I found the courage to
believe again. Evelyn x
